Helping Homeless Families

Families experiencing homelessness will be staying at St. Edward’s Church the week of November 8th.

St. Edward’s Church is one of 60 congregations throughout the metro area that host homeless families through the Families Moving Forward (FMF) program. Families experiencing homelessness will be staying at St. Edward’s Church the week of November 8th. Volunteers are needed to set up comfortable spaces; welcome guests; offer a helping hand as evening or overnight hosts; cook, serve and clean-up home-cooked dinners; care for children; and return rooms to their original condition after families leave. Most volunteer positions only require a 2-4 hour commitment; although there is also a need for Evening Activities Coordinators. For the safety of the families, volunteers must have a background check on file and be VIRTUS trained.
