This weekend we are blessed to have Fr. Robert Hazel fill in for me while I am on retreat.
Fr. Hazel will speak at all the Masses on behalf of Cross Catholic Outreach which was founded to create a meaningful link between parishes in America and the priests and nuns working in the Church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Central and South America.
Fr. Hazel is a retired priest of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. He was ordained in 1966. His ministry included parish work in the Archdiocese, chaplaincy at the University of Minnesota Hospital and extended foreign mission service in India and Venezuela. With his retirement in 2006, Fr. Hazel gladly joined Cross Catholic Outreach because he believes we can do something to bring peace, justice and service to the poorest of the poor. He also continues his work with Retrouvaille a ministry dedicated to helping troubled marriages and for those who are hurting and in need of counseling. He truly has had a colorful career in serving the Church.
I encourage you to open your hearts to hear Fr. Hazel’s message. Also, be generous in your response to Father’s appeal. Brochures will be provided if you wish to support this worthy Catholic ministry.
Autumn blessings, Fr. Brian
P.S., Thank you for all your prayers sent my way this past week. I can feel them all the way out here in Washington State. Thank you for your support!
