St. Edward’s Welcomes Craig Walker, Music Director and Organist

January 16, 2015

My name is Craig Walker and I am excited to join the staff at St. Edward’s as Music Director and Organist. I will be directing the Adult Choir starting January 1st and plan on re-establishing a Bell Choir. I will be overseeing all aspects of the music program at St. Edward’s and look forward to working with the many talented singers, cantors, other musicians, and especially Emma, Roger, and Sarah.

I have accompanied and/or directed church music since I was a teenager. I was raised Protestant and spent many years serving Protestant churches. In 2007, I completed the RCIA program at the Basilica of St. Mary. Subsequently I served as an accompanist at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis and Mary, Mother of the Church in Burnsville. Since 2010, I have served as Music Director for Sacred Heart Church in St. Paul.

Originally from Los Angeles, I have also lived in Seattle and Duluth. I have lived across the river in Burnsville for 10 years. I also work full time in the financial services industry where I have been for 30 years in 2015.

I encourage parishioners to consider participation in the many music programs at St. Edward’s. If you like to sing, I especially welcome you to consider joining the Adult Choir which rehearses on Thursday evenings. January is a great time to join choir as we start working on music for winter, Holy Week, and spring.

I look forward to meeting many of you in the weeks to come and I always welcome your feedback. You can reach me at cwalker@stedwardschurch.org.
