Heartfelt Mercy: A Spirituality of Mercy
October 20th, 7:00 PM

Sponsored by St. Edward’s Stephen Ministry, this all-ages “Year of Mercy” presentation will begin at 7:00pm in the social hall on Thursday, October 20th. Fr. Jim Deegan, Director of Christ the King Center, will lead us through an overview of the “Spirituality of Mercy” and will examine how mercy is portrayed in both the Old Testament and New Testament. He will share some suggestions of how to become more merciful people in our everyday life. Mother Teresa said that “it all begins with prayer.” We will hear how the sacraments and especially the Eucharist is the “quiet mercy of God.”

Fr. Jim is a native of Richfield. He was ordained in 1970 and over the years has served as a parish priest, a hospital chaplain, a vocation director, a mentor to Oblate seminarians, and a community leader.
