Dear Parishioners of St. Edward,
You will find here the latest message from the Catholic Bishops of Minnesota regarding permission to resume limited public Masses in the Archdiocese starting on May 26.
I want to let you know that here at St. Edward we assembled a task force to study and make recommendations regarding the “how and when” of safely reopening our parish for public Masses.
The task force began its work on May 8 and has been meeting regularly to study the guidelines and protocols from the Archdiocesan Office of Worship and the CDC and to strategize on how to best apply those guidelines for our specific situation at St. Edward.
The task force is drawn from Administration, Liturgy Commission, Parish Council and Parish Trustees. The members of the task force are:
- Beth Schorle, Parish Administrator
- Mary Kay Hird, Liturgy Coordinator
- Lynn Anne Groebner, Liturgy Commission Chair
- John Cotter, Parish Council
- Michelle Cowling, Parish Council
- Peter Smyth, Parish Trustee
- Molly Mitch, Parish Trustee
The task force will soon be making its recommendations regarding the safe reopening of St. Edward for public worship. We will keep you posted as things develop.
In the meantime, please keep the task force in your prayers, and join us online for the celebration of Mass. And also, just a reminder that our chapel (sanitized twice daily, and roped off for social distancing), remains open for personal prayer every day from 8 AM – 8 PM.
God bless you and our wonderful community of St. Edward.
We hope to see you safely in person soon!
