Summer greetings to all of you!
We joyfully announce the return to public Mass. The assembled task force has studied the protocols from the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and various health organizations. After much discussion and prayer, we are happy to announce a gradual return to Mass. Starting on June 17, we will slowly increase the number of Masses per week and the number of people we can accommodate. This gradual growth allows time to put our new procedures into practice and make adjustments where needed.
When we come back, things will look a little different, just like so much in our lives today. There will be specific ways to enter the church, walk through the aisles, and receive communion – all while wearing a mask. However, many things remain the same; our love of the Lord, our desire to pray as a community, and our desire to share in the Eucharist.
God commands us to keep holy the Sabbath. Whether we do that by coming to Mass or watching Mass online, know that we are still connected as the body of Christ. In fact, if you are over the age of 65 or have an underlying heath condition, it is highly recommended you stay home at this time. Our first consideration is for the spiritual and physical health of our parishioners and those they encounter; especially the most vulnerable. The Archbishops’s dispensation to attend Mass will stay in effect until the end of the pandemic. We will continue to record the Mass and post it online every weekend.
A new ministry has been created in response to the new protocols and we are currently recruiting volunteers. The CREW (Celebrating our Return to Eucharistic Worship) will welcome parishioners to Mass, assist with seating, and help direct communion flow. We are looking for a team of men and women, ages 18 to 65 with no underlying health conditions to serve. Youth age 12 -18 may serve along with a parent. If you are able, please sign up NOW to be included in the initial training: Saturday, June 20 at 11am or Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30pm! Contact Mary Kay at email@example.com to get involved.
If you choose to attend Mass, please read the new procedures on our website beforehand. You will be required to register through the link provided or by calling the parish office, (952) 835-7101 .
