St. Edward is pleased to introduce three new staff members to our team!

Janet Gorshe, Director of Parish Life & Discipleship:

My name is Janet Gorshe, and I am looking forward to joining the Church of St. Edward as the Director of Parish Life and Discipleship. I have a true passion for our faith and am excited to evangelize the good news of Jesus to the young and seasoned in our community and beyond by bringing new life to existing programs and seeking out new opportunities to build this parish. I am a graduate of Archbishop Harry Flynn’s Catechetical Institute and have vast experience in many other church programs as well as being a recent addition to your Music Ministry program as a cantor. I am married to my husband, Tony, and I have two young adult children who are very active in our Archdiocese as well. Please come introduce yourself to me, tell me what you love about this parish, and any ideas for growth. I am energized to get started!

Ryan Best, Co-Coordinator of Faith Formation

Hi everyone! My name is Ryan Best and I am excited to take on the role of Co-Coordinator of Faith Formation for Youth and Young Adults. I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2018 with a B.A. in Catholic Studies, where I had great experiences as a seminarian for a year and a half before the Lord called me to a different path. I also served on traveling missionary teams with NET Ministries for two years, and then as a missionary staff member for NET as well. Now, I am happy to be able to serve St. Edward’s while I also study to apply for medical school at some point in the future. I hope to meet you all soon – God bless!

Katherine Hird, Co-Coordinator of Faith Formation

My name is Katherine Hird, and I am thrilled to be stepping into the role of Faith Formation Co-Coordinator for St. Edward. I have grown up as a parishioner of St. Edward.
I received all of my sacraments here, was a part of Acts 29, went on several mission trips, and have been a cantor for 10 years. You may also know me because of my wonderful mom, Mary Kay. In 2019, I graduated from the College of Saint Benedict and taught fifth grade at Our Lady of Grace in Edina for the past two years. While working at St. Ed’s, I will also be going to graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls to pursue School Psychology. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the youth of St. Edward and to be involved in the parish in a new way.

Please join us in welcoming Janet, Ryan and Katherine to our staff!
