In May, the first five Tegeder Fund grant requests were approved and checks were delivered to the recipients. Family Fest Ministries received a grant for $2,500 to support their Little Boost Scholarship Fund. Recently a letter of thanks arrived that reads:
Dear St. Edward’s Tegeder Fund Committee,
On behalf of Family Fest Ministries, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the grant of $2500.00 from the Tegeder Fund to our Little Boost Scholarship fund for families. This fund is used to assist families who come to one of our family camps or marriage retreats.
I’m happy to tell you that your donation has already gone to work assisting several families for our Summer Splash Family Camp in August. I know some of these families would not be able to attend without the scholarship help.
I’d like to tell you about one of the families you are assisting by your grant. They are a family with nine children and have participated in Family Fest camps in the past. For the past five years their 12-year-old son has been battling leukemia. This March he was finally able to complete his chemo and is now cancer free. After receiving word that we had a scholarship available, the parents sent this note:
Our family is extremely thankful for the financial gift of scholarship assistance, without which we would not be able to afford to attend Summer Splash.
Family Fest Camp has created memories that will forever hold a special place in all of our children’s lives and our family as a whole. For our family personally, memories from camp are internal imprints of God’s goodness with a lasting impact!! Thank you so very much for making this reality possible with your generous donations! We so are grateful!Thanks to your generosity, this family is going to be able to experience family camp together this summer.
On behalf of all the families receiving scholarships, we want to extend our appreciation and our gratitude for the way the Tegeder Fund has blessed so many. Thank you!
