The following is an excerpt of a letter of thanks from Haven Housing, one of the recipients of a Tegeder Fund grant requests this year:
Thank you so much for your recent grant of $2,500 to Haven Housing! Your generous contribution [helped] us to build a much-needed gazebo in the courtyard of our Ascension Place building, a former convent located in the heart of North Minneapolis. Having a shade-providing structure for our residents means that women in transition or crisis will have a safe and peaceful place to gather outdoors, share meals, and build community.
Each day, Haven Housing helps hundreds of women and children in crisis or transition find safe, stable shelter and housing and supports them in exploring options for their future. The support of the Church of St. Edward over the years has been invaluable in ensuring that we have the materials we need to create a safe haven for those we serve.
