Making a Difference

St. Edward’s Church provides lunch for the homeless and others in need at the Catholic Charities Opportunity Center in downtown Minneapolis at 17th and Chicago. This ministry involves shopping for groceries, making the sandwiches, and serving them with a smile! On the fourth Tuesday of the month St. Edward’s volunteers shop and pick up the pre-ordered food from Cub Foods: meat, cheese and buns to make at least 200 sandwiches, as well as bananas, chips and milk. Everything is brought to the Catholic Charities Opportunity Center. Sandwiches are made and then served in two shifts, at 11:30am and noon.
