We Welcome Your Talents
The Church of St. Edward needs your help in order to grow and better serve others. There are many opportunities available and we gratefully accept interested people of all ages and backgrounds. Most Pressing Volunteer Opportunities
Donut Sundays: New volunteers and team leaders are needed for Donut Sundays on the first and third Sundays of most months throughout the year. Use our Online Sign-Up or contact the parish office at 952-835-7101 for more information.
Funeral Hospitality: St. Edward’s has a long and wonderful history of ministering to families who have lost a loved one by serving a lunch after the funeral. We are blessed with many volunteers who make this possible by doing the setup, serving the actual meal, and cleaning up after everyone has gone. We are in need of people to act as coordinators to keep this ministry going strong. The coordinators have traditionally been in charge of one month a year. If you can help, please contact Mary Kay Hird at 952-835-7101.Training and assistance will be provided.
Masonic Home Mass Volunteers: Mass (or Communion Service) is celebrated every first and third Thursday at 9:45am for the residents and transitional care patients at the Masonic Home in Bloomington. Additional volunteers are needed to transport residents to and from their rooms at Mass time and/or bring Communion to residents on the second, fourth and fifth (when applicable) Monday of the month. If you can help, contact Mary Kay Hird at 952-835-7101. Learn More
Homebound Eucharist: Holy Communion may be brought to those who are hospitalized, homebound or in a care facility. If you would like to become a Homebound Communion Minister, please contact the parish office at 952-835-7101. Learn More
Eucharistic Ministers: If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister (EM), please contact Mary Kay Hird at 952-835-7101. Eucharist Ministers are needed as part of the monthly schedule or as substitutes. High school students are warmly welcomed.
Arts & Environment: Do you love to decorate? Volunteers are needed to help with Arts & Environment. Please contact Mary Kay Hird at 952-835-7101 to learn more. High school students are encouraged to be a part of this group, too.
The Church of St. Edward takes seriously the need to provide a safe environment for our children and youth while participating in our programs. Therefore, we take three steps when accepting a volunteer to work with our children which we call the “Three Essentials”.
